On Friday, 21 July 2023, one of our prosecutors emerged victorious in a prestigious local law essay competition, open for final year law students, by winning first prize for the second edition of the Prof Joseph A Micallef LL.D., Dr. Jur. (E.U.R) Essay Prize in Law with his essay titled: ‘Poisoned Chalice: Will Anti-money Laundering Legislation Kill off the Trust?’ The prize was awarded by Drs Peter and Anton Micallef, on behalf of the Family of the late Prof Joseph A Micallef. Present for the award was also Dr Ivan Mifsud, Dean of the Faculty of Laws at the University of Malta.
The essay competition aims to encourage legal writing in furtherance of developing legal concepts among authors of the next generation.
